Losing Control With Funding and Social Finance – It’s SIMPL!

Losing Control With Funding and Social Finance – It’s SIMPL!

2nd May 2019 I Devonport Guildhall, Plymouth

Losing Control… It’s SIMPL!

This event will generate new knowledge and learning about how funders (investors, grant makers, commissioners, philanthropists) can work together, and with potential providers, create a collaborative-by-design system of finance.

To do this we need to ‘lose control’ and reset our understanding of how we achieve social and environmental good together. The morning will start with ‘little heresies’; provocative statements that will engage us at both an emotional and intellectual level. We will then bring this together in the afternoon to focus on taking the action we feel will be most significant.

Demystifying Social Investment

Any organisation looking at how to diversify their income streams and how to become sustainable long-term will have to engage with the topic of social investment at some point (and in our opinion the sooner, the better). At this workshop we will look into the mysteries of social investment: what is it? What opportunities are there? What are the associated risks? We’ll explore different types of social investment and the implications for your organisation.
